Latisse, or bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%, is a prescription-strength treatment for hypotrichosis, or inadequate or thinning eyelashes. Latissue acts as nourishment to your eyelashes. The active ingredient in Latisse increases the percent of your eyelashes which are in an active growth phase. This results in longer, thicker and darker lashes.
What are possible side effects of using Latisse?
Some patients may experience a mild itching or eye redness following use of the product. Other possible side effects include eyelid skin darkening, eye irritation or dryness of the eye. Eyelid skin darkening is expected to reverse after use of the product is discontinued.
Is Latisse safe to use?
Latisse has been clinically tested and found to be safe for use. Its active ingredient has been used since 2001.
When will I see results?
Results are typically seen 8 weeks after treatment begins, with full results occurring at 12 to 16 weeks. If you stop using Latisse, you lashes will return to their normal state over the course of several weeks.
